Впрочем, отдельные усохшие ветви можно вырезать сразу. Благодаря запасу питательных веществ в корнях в кроне появится много побегов — волчков, особенно у алычи, абрикоса и ел ивы, поэтому в середине лета наиболее развитые из них нужно вы брать для формирования будущей кроны, а остальные удалить.
Ранней весной уменьшают снеговой покров под деревьями, что приведет к более раннему оттаиванию и прогреванию почвы. Одновременно по талой почве вносят быстрорастворимые азотные удобрения. В дальнейшем растения подкармливают перед интенсивным ростом побегов и проводят некорневые подкормки по молодым листочкам, опрыскивая их 0,2-0,3%-ным раствором мочевины. Особенно важно поддерживать оптимальную влажность почвы.
В засушливые периоды необходим полив. Поливают в борозды глубиной 10-15 см, не менее 20-30 л воды на каждый погонный метр борозды. Такой объем обеспечит хорошее увлажнение почвы на глубину, где залегает основная масса корней.
