Это связано с тем, что при выкапывании таких кустов повреждается основная часть тонких всасывающих придаточных корней. Поэтому, если возникает необходимость пересадки взрослых кустов пиона, их следует поделить. В средней полосе России деление и пересадку пионов проводят в августе-сентябре.
