Травянистые пионы, которые цветут в наших садах и парках, произошли от пионов восточных видов растущих в Китае много сотен лет назад. В России пионы появились при Петре I.

Это многолетнее растение радует цветоводов с ранней весны роскошными ароматными цветами, а после цветения его куст с ажурной зелено-сизой листвой остается декоративным до самых морозов.

Пионы делятся на пять садовых групп по форме цветка: не махровые, японские, анемоновидные, полумахровые и махровые. Цветок сохраняет декоративность 7-11 дней. По высоте пионы бывают карликовые до 40 см, а самые высокие вырастают до 130 см. По срокам цветения делятся на ранние, средние и поздние. Посадите сорта пионов с разными сроками цветения чтобы растянуть цветущий период пионов почти на два месяца.

Уход и посадка пионов

Пион светолюбивое растение, растет на любой плодородной почве. На одном месте может расти до 50 лет.

Посадка пионов очень важный момент. Выберите солнечное, защищенное от ветра место. Помните, что в дальнейшем куст очень сильно разрастется, поэтому сажая вдоль дорожек, учтите расстояние от дорожки до посадочной ямы. Нельзя сажать вблизи от стены дома, так как вода стекающая с крыши может погубить корни пионов. При застое воды корни пионов загнивают.

Лучшее время для посадки пиона с конца августа до конца сентября. Посадочную яму выкопайте размерами 60 х 60 см. На дно ямы насыпьте дренах из битого кирпича или гравия, затем слой перепревшего навоза (примерно 1 ведро) перемешенного с 400 гр костной муки, если нет костной муки, добавьте 200 гр суперфосфата.

Деленка пиона должна иметь 4-5 крупных почки. При размещении саженца в посадочной яме, глазки пиона должны находиться на 3-5 см ниже уровня земли. Сразу посадки пион необходимо полить, вылив на куст ведро воды. После полива проверьте чтобы все почки были засыпаны землей. Затем замульчируйте перегноем или торфом.

Надо отметить, что пионы очень не любят пересадку, но если это необходимо пересаживают растения до четырехлетнего возраста методом перевалки, захватывая большой ком земли и стараясь меньше повредить корни. Пересадку проводите в конце сентября, когда уже обрежете побеги или ранней весной пока еще почки не тронулись в рост.

Ранней весной, после таяния снега, пионы трогаются в рост их нужно подкормить азотными удобрениями. Вторую подкормку делают, когда появятся бутоны, полив кусты пионов настоем коровяка (1:10). После цветения подкармливают еще один раз: на взрослый куст 20 гр калийных удобрений (сульфат калия, хлористый калий) и 30 гр фосфорных (суперфосфат ,фосфоритовая мука).

Поливают пион обильно, но редко. Перед цветением пиона за две недели хорошо поливайте пион, особенно в жаркую и засушливую погоду. После цветения также важен полив, так как в этот период закладываются почки для будущего года.

Для получения более крупных цветов пиона оставляйте только центральный бутон, а все пазушные выламывайте.

Осенью после первых заморозков, пион срезают на уровне почвы. Если срезать пион раньше, то на следующий год он будет хуже цвести. После срезки обрызгайте раствором медного купороса.

Болезни пионов

Чаще всего пионы болеют серой гнилью, особенно в сырую прохладную погоду. Отросшие молодые стебли покрываются плесенью и загнивают. Заболевшее растение опрыскивают раствором марганцовки (3г на 10 л) или медным купоросом (50 г на 10 л).

Ржавчина вызывается спорами грибов, образующими небольшие подушечки на нижней стороне листа желтого или темно-коричневого цвета. Следует опрыскивать куст пиона медным купоросом.
