Турецкая гвоздика
Свое название турецкая гвоздика получила из-за сходства аромата цветов с ароматом известной пряности – бутонов гвоздичного дерева. Однако полюбилось это цветущее растение не столько за аромат, сколько за яркую броскую окраску цветов, продолжительное цветение и неприхотливость.

Цветение турецкой гвоздики длится около месяца с середины июля. Небольшие яркие цветки диаметром 1-1,5 см собраны в плотные щитковидные соцветия размером 10-12 см. Окраска цветов различная: может быть однотонный белый, красный, бордовый, розовый цвет или двух или трехцветный рисунок с различным рисунком мазками, штрихами, яркой каймой. Цветки бывают простые с 5-ю лепестками или махровые в 8-10 лепестками.

По высоте турецкая гвоздика бывает низкорослой 15-20 см и высокорослой до 60-80 см.

Выращивают турецкую гвоздику в основном как двулетнее растение. В первый год она образует розетку листьев, из которых на следующий год появятся цветоносы.

Посев турецкой гвоздики

Размножают гвоздику семенами. Высевают семена в мае или июне. Посев проводят во влажную почву в рядки с расстоянием 15-20 см, глубина бороздки должна быть 1-1,5 см. Предварительно пролейте водой рядок, семена распределяют не густо, рядки засыпают землей и затем посевы накрывают целлофаном или стеклом до появления всходов. После появления всходов укрытие снимают, молодые ростки регулярно поливают, рыхлят и пропалывают. В августе рассаживают турецкую гвоздику на постоянное место с расстоянием 30 см между растениями.

Также посев турецкой гвоздики можно проводить под зиму, при этом посевы не поливают, чтобы они не взошли.

Выбор места и подготовка почвы

Для посадки гвоздики выбирайте солнечное место или легкую полутень. Она лучше растет и пышно цветет на плодородной земле. Для улучшения качества земли перед перекопкой рассыпьте по поверхности перегной, компост и древесную золу или комплексное минеральное удобрение.

Уход за турецкой гвоздикой

Гвоздика турецкая – холодостойкая культура, но лучше переносит зиму с мульчированием почвы торфом или перегноем слоем 8-10 см, можно укрыть ее лапником или другим воздухопроницаемым материалом. Весной укрытие снимают, как только растения тронуться в рост, однако молодые ростки нужно притенить для избегания солнечных ожогов. Для этого можно воткнуть еловую ветку под углом или накрыть другим воздухопроницаемым материалом.

В засушливую погоду гвоздику необходимо регулярно поливать.  Поливают 1-2 раза в неделю, желательно под корень растения. Переувлажнять почву у гвоздики нельзя, также как и выращивать ее на низких участках с застоем воды, так как она легко заболевает прикорневыми гнилями, от чего растения погибают. Для предупреждения этого заболевания необходимо рыхлить почву, удалять поврежденные побеги, проводить профилактические опрыскивания или при первых признаках болезни препаратом «ХОМ» (40 гр на 10 литров).

Для лучшего цветения турецкую гвоздику подкармливают раствором с добавлением жидкого комплексного удобрения для цветущих первый раз во время роста, при высоте побегов 10-12 см, второй раз в период формирования бутонов и третью подкормку проводят во время цветения.
