Форма цветов эустомы может быть простой, когда один ряд лепестков создает воронку, раскрывшись, он похож на цветок мака. Очень красивы махровые цветы эустомы, несколько рядов лепестков создают пышную форму, как у розы.
Размер цветка эустомы достигает в диаметре 5-7 см, их окраска бывает различных оттенков розового, желтого и фиолетового цвета, иногда с контрастной каймой по краю лепестков.
Эффектно выглядят не только цветы эустомы в любой стации раскрытия, но и бутоны, которые имеют изящную форму и тонкие чашелистики у основания. На концах побегов сразу могут раскрыться несколько цветов, в окружении бутонов, на клумбе или в горшке это растение смотрится как пышный букет.
Флористы любят использовать эустому для составления букетов, так как цветы этого растения долго стоят в воде, их нежный и роскошный вид украсит любое торжество.
У цветка эустома (Eustoma) есть еще одно латинское название – лизиантус (Liziantus), многие называют это растение «ирландская роза».

Мои первые опыты по выращиванию эустомы из семян были неудачны, то семена не прорастали, то нежные всходы гибли. Учтя все ошибки, в третий раз рассада эустомы при правильном уходе вышла на славу. После высадки растений в открытый грунт в начале июня, через месяц низкорослые сорта зацвели, а высокая эустома распустилась в конце июля.
Пышное цветение эустомы продолжалось с середины лета до осени, а при посадке растений в горшки и содержании в комнатных условиях эустома цвела до зимы. На одном растении одновременно распускалось до 10 цветков и было сформировано еще не менее 10 бутонов.
Цветы эустомы после раскрытия держатся долго, они сохраняют окраску, если на них не попадает жаркое солнце и капельки воды. Замечено, что в домашних условиях при ярком рассеянном освещении цветок эустомы распустившись, увядает только через 2 недели. В саду раскрывшись, цветок живет меньше, но зато на свежем воздухе растения растут быстрее, побеги сильнее ветвятся и бутонов образуется больше.
Как вырастить эустому из семян
Эустому можно вырастить только из семян. Деление куста для размножения этого цветка не подходит, так как при повреждении многочисленных тонких корешков растение болеет и плохо приживается.
Когда сеять эустому
Зацветает эустома после посева примерно через 5-6 месяцев, поэтому, если вы хотите насладиться цветением «ирландской розы» в саду, то выращивают её через рассаду, проводя посев в январе – конце февраля. Можно сеять на рассаду цветы и раньше, но короткий световой день и сухая жаркая атмосфера в квартире для развития всходов не подходят, поэтому рассада при посеве в декабре или раньше по развитию ко времени высадки обычно на том же уровне, что и растения, посеянные в феврале.
Для выращивания как комнатный цветок эустому рекомендуется сеять в те же сроки, так как летом для растений создаются наилучшие условия для цветения.
Как сеять семена эустомы
Семена эустомы очень мелкие, их еще называют пылевидные. При покупке семян цветов у качественных производителей мелкие семена заключены в светлую оболочку, которую не нужно размачивать перед посевом. Мелкие семена в светлой оболочке удобно высевать, выдерживая расстояние, при таком посеве ростки не будут мешать друг другу развиваться и их легко будет пикировать.
Для посева подготовьте небольшие плошки и рыхлый питательный субстрат. Можно субстрат для выращивания эустомы составить самостоятельно, смешав в равных частях дерновую землю, перегной, торф и песок.
Перед посевом поверхность земли увлажните и слегка уплотните. На расстоянии 3-5 см сделайте небольшие углубления на 2-3 мм и поместите туда семянки. Сверху семена нельзя присыпать, чтобы прорасти, они должны быть на свету, а растворить оболочку на них можно опрыскивая посевы сверху.
Посеянные семена всегда должны быть в теплой влажной атмосфере. Засеянные плошки накройте стеклом или прозрачной пленкой и поставьте на светлый теплый подоконник.
Посевы нельзя поливать сверху, вода затянет семена вглубь и они не прорастут. Увлажняют землю, опрыскивая её поверхность каждый день. При температуре +25 градусов семена эустомы прорастут через 1-2 недели.
Уход за эустомой
Всходы эустомы очень маленькие, кажется, что первый месяц они почти не растут, четыре зеленых листика лишь немного увеличиваются в размерах. В этот период для рассады эустомы необходима температура около +20 градусов. Поливать маленькие всходы нужно очень осторожно, из пульверизатора или из поддона. Земля в плошке всегда должна быть немного влажной, но не сырой. Если в комнате жарко, субстрат будет быстро высыхать, а даже при кратковременном пересыхании земли нежные всходы могут погибнуть. Для сохранения влажности можно накрыть посевы прозрачным пакетом, сделать в нем небольшие отверстия и каждый день проветривать, чтобы поверхность земли не заплесневела.
Второе важное условие развития всходов эустомы – освещение, оно должно быть ярким рассеянным и не менее 12 часов в день. В конце зимы и первые месяцы весны рассаду цветов нужно досвечивать лампами в утренние и вечерние часы.
Визуально первые месяцы не видно, что всходы эустомы растут, в этот период под землей развивается корневая система. Когда у растений образуются первые две пары настоящих листьев, их можно отличить по сизо-голубому оттенку, примерно через 2 месяца сеянцы эустомы пикируют из плошек в отдельные горшочки. При пересадке вынимайте растения с комом земли, вы увидите, что у маленьких растений под землей образовались многочисленные мелкие корешки.
В начале роста эустома хорошо переносит пикировку, укороченные корешки даже быстрее начинают развиваться, но во взрослой стадии эустома болезненно переносит пересадку, поэтому рассаду распределяют в небольшие стаканчики или горшочки, в которых растения будут развиваться до времени посадки на постоянное место. Из горшочков рассаду эустомы высаживают методом перевалки, извлекая растение из стаканчика, не разрушая ком земли и не повреждая корневую систему.
Спустя два месяца после всходов и после пикировки рассада эустомы начинает расти как на дрожжах. Образуется пышная прикорневая розетка листьев и в мае из неё начнут расти высокие побеги. Для быстрого роста эустоме необходимы регулярные подкормки. Подкармливают эустому каждую неделю, но разводят удобрение в воде для полива в два раза меньше нормы. Поливайте рассаду цветов по-прежнему регулярно, не давая земле в стаканчиках пересыхать, в чтобы не залить растения в дне стаканчиков должны быть дренажные отверстия.
Посадка эустомы в открытый грунт и уход.
Высадку рассады в сад проводят, когда минует угроза заморозков, в конце мая – начале июня. Растения размещают друг от друга в соответствии с высотой растений, примерно через 20-30 см.
Перед посадкой цветов землю глубоко перекапывают, вносят комплексное минеральное удобрение и перегной. Эустома любит плодородную почву, но также она должна быть воздухопроницаемой, поэтому тяжелые глинистые участки ля выращивания этого цветка не подходят.
