Из соплодий свеклы вырастает несколько растений. В фазе семядолей их пикировать трудно, а вот в фазе 1-2 настоящих листьев они приживаются лучше. Пересаживать или пикировать растения следует на хорошо увлажненные грядки. Предварительно полейте почву из лейки с ситечком, затем колышком сделайте отверстие во влажной почве и посадите растения.
После посадки растения поливайте под корень, чтобы избежать пустот в каждой лунке. Сверху распикированные растения прикройте тонким нетканым материалом. Чтобы его не сдуло ветром, края прижмите чем-нибудь тяжелым. Нетканый материал должен лежать на грядке свободно.
Дождь и воздух проникают внутрь, но в то же время он сдерживает испарение влаги. Поливать свеклу можно сверху. Эффективно прикрытие каждого растения пластиковым колпаком, который через 1-3 дня можно снять. Пикировать свеклу в более позднем возрасте нежелательно. При этом теряется большая часть всасывающих корней, а корнеплоды образуют большую «бороду» и часто принимают уродливую форму.
