Семена высевают во второй половине апреля — начале мая. Всходы появляются через 20-30 дней. В течение лета посевы рыхлят, поливают, пропалывают.
На второй год жизни проводят прореживание, оставляя между растениями расстояние 15-20 см. Регулярно поливают и подкармливают азотными и калийными удобрениями (по 10-15 г на 1 м2). За лето проводят 3-4 срезки листьев.
