Всходы прореживают, оставляя между ними расстояние 20-40 см.
Проводят нечастый, но основательный полив, 2-3 раза подкармливают растворенным полным минеральным удобрением (25-30 г на 1 м2), удаляют отцветшие соцветия, мульчируют почву, прищипывают верхушки в рассадном возрасте, чтобы ускорить кущение. Цветение наступает через 2-2,5 месяца.
