Напомним одно общее правило: то, что цветет весной, надо высаживать осенью. И наоборот. Лучшее время для пересадки многолетников — конец лета, начало осени.
До наступления холодов растения успеют укорениться, хорошо перезимуют и весной дружно зацветут. Чтобы тюльпаны получились крупными, их надо каждый год пересаживать. Дело в том, что каждая новая луковичка образуется ниже материнской и по этой причине уходит вглубь, а там начинает истощаться и мельчать. Хорошо осенью высаживать флоксы.
Все луковичные надо высаживать в землю в сентябре. Чуть позже можно будет заняться посадкой декоративных кустарников — спиреи Вангутта (ее еще называют «невестой»), сирени. В нашей зоне кустарники и деревья надо сажать осенью, потому что весна очень быстро начинается, дальше наступает засуха, и они не успевают укорениться, чахнут. А осень у нас обычно длинная и теплая. В октябре, когда наступят устойчивые холода, но морозов еще нет, можно посеять астры под зиму. Они рано взойдут, будут крепенькими, дадут обильное цветение.
Если вы хотите, чтобы тюльпаны цвели в вашем саду подольше, подберите сорта разных сроков созревания — ранние, средние, поздние. Нарциссы тоже есть ранние и средние. Чтобы раньше зацвели васильки и бархатцы, можно в марте посеять по десять семечек в горшочки, а потом водворить их на клумбу. И будут они вам на радость цвести с начала июня чуть ли не до морозов. Бархатцы можно сеять и сразу в открытый грунт. Многие сажают амарант. Это очень интересное растение с темно-фиолетовыми листьями разных форм — стоячих, висячих.
Есть загадка: кормовое, овощное, сорное, лекарственное растение — что это? Все это относится к амаранту. Он рано выскакивает и красуется все лето. Его раз заведешь, потом не избавишься. Но можно где-то и посадить. Листья добавляют в супы, салаты, напитки. Они обладают способностью снимать усталость. Про амарант столько написано, что хочется схватить его и жевать, жевать, хотя не сказать, что на вкус он очень уж хороший.
После тюльпанов начинают цвести примулы — однолетние и многолетние. Дальше они уже сами размножаются. Эти растения можно делить и пересаживать даже во время цветения. Тут же заявляет о себе розовыми и белыми цветками космея, которую называют еще «растрепой». Ярко-желто-оранжевая рудбекия, долго цветущая эшшольция, неприхотливые бальзамины — выбор велик. Кто любит сидеть у крылечка, пусть заведет маттиолу.
Вечером ее запах прямо плывет по воздуху. Многим нравится люпин — многолетнее растение с декоративными листьями. Отцветет — вы его срезаете, а через две недели рост возобновляется, и он снова зацветает. О всех цветах, которые можно вырастить, не рассказать при всем желании — выбор очень велик.
