Семейство Вересковые (по другим данным — Брусничные)

Красника — близкая родственница черники и клюквы. В дикорастущем состоянии она встречается только на Дальнем Востоке (причем не всюду, а в основном на Сахалине, Курильских островах и на Камчатке), однако любители существенно расширили ее географию вплоть до средней полосы России. Другое дело, что таких любителей пока немного, и потому в целом красника в культуре крайне редка.

Биологические особенности
Красника — кустарничек до 8—10 см высотой, причем большая часть этой высоты приходится на листья (со стороны ее легко принять за розеточное растение, и лишь заглянув под лист, можно рассмотреть, что у нее есть частично одревесневающий стволик-стебель).

Большая часть этого растения находится под землей и состоит из горизонтально ориентированных корневищ и отходящих от них более мелких корешков. Благодаря этому красника быстро разрастается в обширные колонии- куртины.

Листья у красники крупные, до 4—5 см длиной, по форме отдаленно напоминают листья подорожника, но с другим жилкованием, более нежные и мягкие со слегка волнистым краем (иногда бывают невыраженно лопастными).

Для них характерно неоднократное изменение окраски в течение сезона: весной (в мае) листья салатно-зеленые, позже они становятся темно-зелеными, а осенью — малиново-красными.

Цветет в июне. Мелкие с бело-розоватым венчиком цветки собраны по 2—3 штуки в малоцветковую кисть на конце цветоноса. Я

годы поспевают в конце августа — сентябре (в зависимости от региона). Они мелкие (менее 1 см в диаметре), округлые, в неспелом состоянии розовые, в спелом — алые, очень похожи на ягоды клюквы. Ягоды как бы прячутся под листьями, с первого взгляда они часто не видны.

Красника весьма зимостойка, под снежным покровом она выдерживает значительные отрицательные температуры, но может пострадать от весенних заморозков (в этом случае возможно нерегулярное плодоношение). Она влаголюбива и солнцелюбива.

Ценность культуры
Вкус у свежих ягод красники весьма своеобразный, на любителя, некоторым людям он очень нравится, но другим может казаться даже отвратительным: в первые секунды ягоды кажутся сладкими, затем кисловатыми и, наконец, горькими и даже солоноватыми.

После переработки этот эффект исчезает, поэтому в виде варенья, начинок для пирогов, желе, соков, компотов и прочих изделий краснику употребляют в пищу намного чаще.

Химический состав ягод красники изучен недостаточно, хотя ее целебные свойства сегодня подтверждены научными исследованиями.

Красника снижает давление при гипертонии, улучшает пищеварение, снимает головную боль, помогает быстрее выздоравливать при простудах и обладает общеукрепляющим и тонизирующим действием. В народной медицине используются и листья красники.

Сорта
Сорта красники официально ни в одной из стран не зарегистрированы, однако в них в любой момент могут превратиться формы, созданные народной селекцией (аналоги местных сортов).

Агротехника
Для посадки красники желательно выбирать достаточно освещенное место, но возможна и легкая полутень. Она, как и клюква, предпочитает легкие кислые почвы с pH 4,5, в идеале — торфяные, но, в отличие от клюквы, специальный грунт для нее готовится гораздо реже (в этом случае берут верховой торф с песком в пропорции 3:1, в который желательно добавить суперфосфат или другое фосфорное удобрение), чаще торф просто насыпается сверху в виде мульчи или добавляется в грунт перед посадкой (до 50—60 %). Дополнительно подкислять его не надо.

Красника не терпит застойного переувлажнения* уровень залегания грунтовых вод должен быть не выше 30— 40 см (при более высоком она плохо растет и может погибнуть).

Способы размножения
Как правило, краснику размножают делением корневищ, которые переносятся на новое место, как говорят, «в кирпиче» — вместе с вырезанным лопатой прямоугольным куском грунта, поскольку ее мелкие, питающиеся корни, в отличие от корневищ-побегов, плохо переносят повреждения.

Семенное размножение практикуется намного реже (тогда, когда нет возможности приобрести другой посадочный материал). Чаще всего семена сеют под зиму, иногда вместе с давлеными ягодами.

При весеннем посеве семена надо стратифицировать в течение 40—80 дней. Для лучшей выживаемости сеянцев посев желательно замульчировать мхом сфагнумом. На постоянное место сеянцы перемещают также «в кирпиче».

Посадка
Поскольку кустики красники невелики, их лучше размещать по квадратной схеме (20 х 20 см). После помещения на постоянное место «кирпич» с красникой мульчируют торфом (толщина слоя 3—5 см) и обильно поливают.

Обрезка
Не требуется. Периодически надо удалять слабые и больные экземпляры или части побегов.

Поливы
Почва, где растет красника, постоянно должна быть слегка влажной, но ни в коем случае не слишком сырой, ее полное высыхание и застойное переувлажнение одинаково недопустимы. В первые месяцы вегетационного периода ее надо поливать редко, лишь в случае длительного отсутствия осадков, в жару и после закладки ягод — чаще.

Подкормки
Краснику обычно подкармливают дважды за сезон: весной и во время цветения. Чаще всего для подкормок используют мочевину и сернокислый калий в виде растворов (в качестве органического удобрения выступает торф, входящий в состав землесмеси или насыпанный сверху в виде мульчи, — его надо обновлять ежегодно в объемах 4—5 кг на 1 м2).

Количественно минеральных удобрений, в отличие от торфа, краснике требуется немного—половинная доза в сравнении с другими ягодными и плодовыми культурами (общая доза составляет не более 20 г на 1 м2).

Прочий уход
Из-за поверхностного залегания корней рыхлить почву вокруг красники нельзя, поэтому в прочий уход за ней входит только прополка сорняков.

В средней полосе России и южнее ее красника в укрытии на зиму не нуждается, в более северных регионах ее желательно утеплять укрывающими материалами. В регионах с не самыми холодными зимами, но с повторяющимися весенними заморозками краснику нередко приходится укрывать уже весной (после таяния снега).

Особенности сбора и хранения урожая
О том, что ягоды красники поспели, сигнализирует покраснение листвы. Обычно их собирают в сентябре.

Вредители и болезни
Практически не встречаются.
