Капуста может быть красивой, есть множество декоративных сортов и разновидностей капусты, их используют для украшения клумб совместно с другими цветами.

— ко второй группе относятся сорта с классической рыхлой розеткой листьев, на укороченном стебле. К осени внутренние листья розетки приобретают другую окраску – розовую, жёлтую, белую. Листья капусты могут иметь волнистый или гофрированный край и в целом растение выглядит как огромный цветок, похожий на розу.

Выращивают декоративную капусту практически также как обычную белокочанную. Посев овощной капусты и декоративной можно проводить одновременно по одинаковым правилам. При высадке рассады овощные растения размещайте на грядке, а декоративные – на клумбе.

Так как вначале развития декоративная капуста выглядит невзрачно, то лучше её размещать на втором плане или совместно с летними цветами, которые будут украшать клумбу до августа, а затем эту роль на себя возьмёт капуста. Декоративную капусту можно использовать для создания бордюра в цветнике или вдоль дорожек. Это растение прекрасно комбинируется с осенними цветами.

Декоративную капусту ещё можно выращивать в вазонах или контейнерах, тогда в конце лета её можно переместить на самое видное место и скрыть оголившиеся участки в цветнике.

Декоративная капуста, как и обычная, любит питательную почву с нейтральной реакцией. Для получения объёмных  розеток из красивых листьев растениям необходимы регулярные поливы, так как все виды капусты влаголюбивы.

Также капуста любит регулярные подкормки. Вначале лета капусту можно удобрять настоем коровяка или другой органикой с большим количеством азота. Во второй половине лета подкармливайте капусту комплексным удобрением для цветущих растений, где содержится больше фосфора и калия.

Ещё одно важное условие для того чтобы декоративная капуста приобрела яркую окраску – она должна получать достаточно солнечного света. Капуста любит открытые солнечные места, можно высадить её и в полутень, но эти растения будут проигрывать по яркости и красоте тем растениям, что находятся на солнце.
