Зола — хорошее средство для борьбы с вредителями и болезнями овощных и плодовых культур. Посыпьте ею всходы капусты, редиса, репы — их меньше повредят блошки и другие враги капустных.
Спасая таким образом, допустим, редис, вы одновременно подкармливаете его калием, фосфором, известью, магнием, медью, железом и другими элементами.
Калий, который содержится в золе, не имеет примесей хлора, вредного для смородины, крыжовника, малины. Зола практически не имеет противопоказаний к применению.
Она подходит для всех садовых деревьев и кустарников, принесет пользу растениям на любой грядке. Золу используют также для предпосевной обработки семян и клубней, для залечивания ран корней. Лучшая зола получается из березовых дров, стеблей подсолнечника, соломы, травы.
Обязательно надо обращать внимание на один важный момент: сжигая растительные остатки, смотрите, чтобы не попали в огонь какие-нибудь кусочки от изделий химической промышленности.
Они часто содержат ядовитые вещества, которые потом вместе с растительной пищей могут попасть в человеческий организм. При сгорании поливинилхлорида, например, образуется сильнейший яд — диоксин, смертельно опасный для человека.
Даже самое малое количество такой золы может лишить кого-то жизни. Только растительная зола несет в себе благо. Золы много не бывает. Ее можно использовать в большом количестве.
Ее кладут в лунки при посадке разных овощных культур — томатов, перца, баклажанов, а также картофеля, опудривают ею после полива практически все, что растет на грядках, а заодно и землянику, и смородину, чтобы их меньше повреждали вредители.
Опудривают золой семенной картофель во время закладки его на хранение — слой за слоем. Грызунам, между прочим, это не нравится. Можно готовить из золы раствор и опрыскивать им культурные растения. 300-400 г золы кипятят в течение получаса и дают отстояться. Потом сливают, добавляют воду до 10 л и мыло.
Что это даст? Раствор послужит подкормкой, усложнит жизнь вредителям, убережет от болезней. Им можно протирать штамбы деревьев в саду. Это делают рано весной и поздней осенью.
