Для опоры вьющихся растений по всей озеленяемой стене вертикально натягивают бечевку (или проволоку) на расстоянии 15 см от стены. Нижний конец бечевки привязывают к колышкам, вбитым в землю, а верхний — к гвоздям, которые вбивают в стену или специальную рейку. Если растения сразу не закрепляются самостоятельно на опоре, их осторожно, по одному, подвязывают к бечевке.
Для вертикального озеленения кирпичных стен лучшая опора — легкая деревянная рама высотой 2-2,5 м. Ширина рамы должна соответствовать ширине простенков или сторон веранды либо беседки. На раму натягивают шпагат или проволоку (через 15 см одну от другой вертикально и через 30 см горизонтально).
Верхнюю часть прикрепляют так, чтобы рама отстояла от стены на 15 см. Рамы желательно делать разборными. Все части их следует обработать от гниения за 2 недели до установки. Такие рамы могут служить до 10 лет.
