Эти удобрения содержат питательные элементы в форме растворимых органических соединений. Обычно ими пользуются в периоды, наиболее ответственные за будущий урожай, — когда надо добиться быстрого подрастания или когда идет созревание и налив плодов. Удобрение следует делать в деревянной, пластиковой или глиняной емкости. Можно даже в мешке, если он способен держать влагу.
Металлические емкости использовать не рекомендуется, так как травяной настой может вступить в реакцию с металлом. Емкость наполняют резаной травой и заливают дождевой или хорошо отстоявшейся и нехолодной водой. Воду наливают не до самого верха — во время брожения объем жидкости увеличивается. Один раз в день (как минимум) массу перемешивают. Сильный неприятный запах можно уменьшить, бросив сверху горсть пыли или добавив немного листьев валерианы.
Настой потемнел и перестал пениться — значит, брожение закончилось. После этого емкость можно закрыть крышкой с отверстиями для доступа воздуха. Обычно процесс продолжается полторы-две недели. На солнечном месте он убыстряется. Жидкие удобрения можно применять и при поливе под корень, и для опрыскивания листьев.
Внекорневая подкормка быстрее устраняет дефицит питательных веществ, чем удобрение, вносимое в почву. Опрыскивание листьев можно устраивать каждые две-три недели. Для полива под корень берут непроцеженный раствор, разведенный водой 1:10. Для опрыскивания листьев настой процеживают и разводят водой 1:20. Делать это полагается непосредственно перед использованием. Выбрав жидкую часть удобрения, остальное бросьте в компостную кучу. Много пользы приносит культурным растениям сброженный настой из крапивы.
Для приготовления берут растения, не имеющие семян. Годится и сухая крапива. Этот настой оздоравливает растения, стимулирует их рост и образование хлорофилла. Землю, политую им, любят дождевые черви. Большинство овощных культур хорошо реагирует на это удобрение, но есть и исключения. Горох, бобы, лук и чеснок его не терпят.
Жидкое удобрение из окопника особенно рекомендуется для культур, требующих много калия и мало азота, то есть для томатов, огурцов, фасоли. Для приготовления настоя окопника берут 0,8 кг свежих растений, измельчают их и заливают водой. Воды вливают 10 л. Это удобрение готовится месяц. Используют его так же, как и настой крапивы.
Опрыскивание листьев быстро ликвидирует калиевый дефицит. Для подкормки используют смеси разных растений, в ход идут и сорняки. Пастушья сумка, в частности, очень богата микроэлементами. Для обогащения жидкого удобрения в смесь добавляют в небольших количествах ароматические травы, лук, чеснок, птичий помет, древесную золу.
Можно готовить настои навоза, компоста, птичьего помета. Емкость на 1/4-1/8 объема заполняют этим «добром» и заливают водой. Настой выдерживают сутки-двое, периодически перемешивая. Получается темная жидкость. Для полива ее разводят до светло- коричневого цвета (как некрепкий чай). Разведенный настой из компоста очень полезен для полива рассады. Она быстрее приживается, получая легкодоступное питание при еще слабых корнях. Замачивание в нем семян улучшает их прорастание и ускоряет начальный рост.
