Укоренение черенков томатов
Теоретически получение более ранних плодов возможно, но на практике плодоношение их опаздывает на столько дней, сколько требуется для их укоренения. Черенки томата с главного или боковых побегов легко окореняются через 1-2 недели.

Для уменьшения испарения часть листьев обрезают, а часть укорачивают. Затем черенки помещают в керамический сосуд с водой и ставят в полутемное место. Как только образуются корни, черенки пересаживают в горшочки с легкой почвенной смесью. Можно сразу посадить их в ящик с песком или легкой землей. Через 10-15 дней черенки образуют хорошо развитую корневую систему и легко приживаются при пересадке.

Самыми крепкими и сильными черенками бывают те, что взяты с верхушки главного побега и из нижних боковых побегов, вырастающих из пазух нижних листьев. На них созревают более крупные плоды, но общий урожай, полученный из черенков, у томата все-таки меньше, чем у выращенных из рассады.
