Как отличить привитой саженец от корнесобственного? У привитого выше корневой шейки находится утолщение — место прививки. Нужно выбирать такие саженцы, у которых хорошо развитая корневая система имеет массу тонких корешков, а надземная часть — вызревшая.
Побеги при сгибании издают характерный хруст и легко ломаются. Для посадки рекомендуются обычно одно-двухлетние саженцы. Не годятся к посадке растения с сухими корнями и морщинистой корой. Посадочную яму надо выкопать с таким расчетом, чтобы в ней свободно поместились все корни. Предварительно обрезают слишком длинные, сухие и поврежденные корни.
На стеблях оставляют три-пять почек. Если саженец привитой, то место прививки нужно заглубить на 5 см ниже уровня почвы, иначе вместо роз начнет расти дикая поросль. После посадки необходимо обильно полить кусты. Когда сажать розы? Лучше всего это делать осенью, не позже, чем за две-три недели до наступления заморозков.
Если не хотите рисковать, то прикопайте саженцы до весны в подвале. Уход за розами заключается в регулярных поливах, подкормках, рыхлении почвы и прополках. В сухую погоду растения поливают один раз в неделю, но обильно — 10-15 л воды на один куст. Подкармливать их лучше органическими удобрениями — перегноем, компостом, навозом.
Роза очень страдает от вредителей и болезней. При заболевании мучнистой росой (на листьях выступают белые пятна) применяют опрыскивание марганцовокислым калием, кальцинированной содой (48-50 г соды и 40 г мыла на 10 л воды), настоем чеснока (15 г на 1 л воды, отстаивать сутки), настоем коровяка (полведра коровяка настаивают три- четыре дня в 10 л воды, затем разбавляют в два раза), топазом.
